Applies to other things too
"If you remember the shape of your spoon at lunch, it has to be the wrong shape... the spoon and the letter are tools; one to take food from the bowl, the other to take information off the page... when it is a good design, the reader has to feel comfortable because the letter is both banal and beautiful."

Deerhunter Heaven 6 May 2010
I hate Heaven. The sound is shit there, and you can't see anything.
Great to be in the same room as Bradford Cox and Deerhunter though. I assume it was them, the lights were shining in our faces. Horrible sound, of course. Good music sound, but horrible distorted reverberation sound.
It was my birthday.
Michelle and I left a bit early. I normally see things through to the bitter end. As we left, security were setting up the airport scanner for the club following the gig, so I don't think we missed that much.

Tumbledryer Babies Chinnery's 18 June 2009
A lot of people just don't get Tumbledryer Babies. And those people are idiots.

And who would want to make sense in this stupid town anyway?
Never mind, there were loads of people at Chinnery's who do understand what Andrew Moore and his team - Daryl Worthington, Bob Drummer, and Emma Moore (absent this evening, don't know why) - are about. Fantastic value as always, rattling through ten or so songs in just over twenty minutes, I blinked and they were gone.
Highlights: 'Dirty Words & Dusty Corners' 'Marty Feldman Eyes' ' There's No Smoke Without You'.
Find them on MySpace, and download their tunes from bandcamp.com
